Donna Swensen 1932 - 2020 Yesterday, we said goodbye to one of Rinpoche and The Tibet Center's oldest and dearest friends ~ Donna Swensen. A devote student of Buddhism, Donna trudged to class despite many physical hardships she was dealing with. Often during class, Rinpoche would lovingly make Donna the butt of all his jokes. They had a very special and close relationship. Later in her life she started a career in acting. Donna appeared in TV commercials - most prominently in a Visiting Angels' commercial - as well as several comedy and horror movies. Last August Donna's friends, Mark, Lavinia and Tenzin, put her in a car and drove her to CT for the red carpet premier of her last movie - Bash the Bride, a comedy where she plays a great grandma Adonia from Greece, who with great effort arrives for her granddaughter's wedding, which has been cancelled.
