Stefan Hiros

August 6 1952 - November 6 2022

Our dear friend Stefan Hiros passed away suddenly in Prague Sunday November 6, 2022.

Stefan used to house the Lamas coming to teach at TTC (seen here with Venerable Yonten Gyatso early 2000s).

He was a personal friend of Czech Republic President, Vaclav Havel. Stefan came to NYC and started studying with Rinpoche in the late 70s early 80s.

If you met Stefan you would first notice his gruff exterior and when you got to know him come to love his soft warm interior. Stefan always made us all - especially Rinpoche - laugh and was one of his oldest and dearest friends.

Rato monks will say prayers for Stefan and we will say prayers for Stefan at class this Wednesday November 9, 2022.

May he will be reborn in a completely pure realm. We will greatly miss our friend.
