My Journey to Becoming a Geshema
Join Geshema Tenzin Lhadron, the current resident teacher at the Forest of Wisdom in Scotland, CT, for a special public talk on the foundational practice of Bodhicitta—the compassionate aspiration to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.
In this talk, Geshema Lhadron will share her personal journey to becoming a Geshema, one of the highest academic degrees in Tibetan Buddhism, and reflect on the inner practices that sustained her path. She will explore how to cultivate a mindset rooted in altruism, offering insights into developing a genuine commitment to the welfare of others.
Geshema Lhadron was awarded the prestigious Geshe degree in Buddhist theology by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2016 at Drepung Monastic University in South India, following decades of rigorous study at the Jamyang Choling Institute in Dharamsala, India. As one of the few women worldwide to hold this title, and among the few to speak in both Tibetan and English, Geshema Lhadron bridges profound Buddhist scholarship with lived experience and heartfelt teaching.
